Lost Dreams on Canvas is a program that started in 1993 as a collaboration between the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts and the Veterans Against Drugs. Through this program Philadelphia-area artists can volunteer their time to paint portraits of children who have lost their lives due to violence. The portraits are given to the victims families as a remembrance and reproductions travel to local schools and community centers as part of anti-violence presentations.
